Green Preference Service Launches UK’s 1st Switching Service To Help Reduce CO2
Green Prefererence Service, a new UK service enabling consumers to divert direct mail to an online mailbox, has launched offering clear benefits for consumers, business and the environment. This breakthrough initiative will make a serious impact on direct mail-reliant businesses’ CO2 reduction goals: every item of mail converted from physical to digital saves at least 19g of CO2.
By signing up online in three quick steps, consumers can choose which direct mail they want to continue receiving by post and which they would prefer to receive electronically. Everybody who signs up to the service gets their own free, private WebBox for delivery of online mail. The service requires no additional email software and guarantees that no spam will be delivered, ensuring maximum visibility for its customers’ messages.

BT signs up for renewable electricity with npower
BT is the latest high profile company to commit to taking all of its electricity from renewable sources. BT have signed contracts with npower estimated to be in the region of 'several hundred million' pounds. According to the environmental charity the Climate Group, BT has saved around £100 million pounds since 1991 through its energy efficient policies and £421 million from using green modes of transport.
